Nine Hinge prompts, before and after.
Nine common Hinge prompts, each answered twice: the answer most people write, and a rewrite built from the same person's facts. The three people below are invented; their jobs, cities, dogs and sourdough starters exist only on this page. A real profile is written only from your own twelve answers.

The four invisible words
Travel, food, laughing, no games. Almost every profile says them, so they are true and invisible at once. The rule behind all nine rewrites below: swap each general word for the specific version only you could write, and give the reader one easy thing to reply to.
The three people
- Maya, 28, a primary-school teacher in Leeds who runs a Sunday pub quiz and cannot parallel park (invented)
- Dev, 34, a line cook in Toronto who plays five-a-side on Tuesdays and keeps a sourdough starter called Keith (invented)
- Jo, 39, a landscape gardener in Melbourne with a rescue greyhound and a half-finished campervan (invented)
1. I'm looking for
Maya · sample
Before · what most people write
“Someone genuine who makes me laugh and knows what they want.”
After · same person, same facts
“Someone who will argue about a quiz answer, lose, and still come back next Sunday.”
82 / 150 characters
Why it works. The first answer fits every profile on the app. The second has a place, a habit and a small test of character, so the reply writes itself: what was the answer?
2. The way to win me over is
Dev · sample
Before · what most people write
“Good food and good conversation.”
After · same person, same facts
“Order the thing on the menu you cannot pronounce and let me try it. I cook for a living: easy to feed, hard to impress.”
119 / 150 characters
Why it works. Dev's job is the most interesting fact on his profile and the first answer hides it. The rewrite uses it and gives a clear instruction.
3. My simple pleasures
Jo · sample
Before · what most people write
“Sunday mornings, coffee, long walks and sunshine.”
After · same person, same facts
“The greyhound falling asleep mid-zoomie. The first coffee after the van's wiring finally works. Rain on compost-turning day.”
124 / 150 characters
Why it works. Four generic nouns became three real scenes. Each one is something a stranger can ask about.
4. Two truths and a lie
Maya · sample
Before · what most people write
“I've been to 20 countries, I can't swim, I once met a celebrity.”
After · same person, same facts
“I have never parallel parked successfully. I have won my own pub quiz. I have 31 children's names memorised by the second day of September.”
139 / 150 characters
Why it works. The lie should be the least believable true-sounding thing; Maya's rewrite makes all three guessable from the rest of the profile, which is the game.
5. Typical Sunday
Dev · sample
Before · what most people write
“Brunch, gym, Netflix, chill.”
After · same person, same facts
“Market at eight before it gets busy, feed Keith (the sourdough, not a person), five-a-side if my knee agrees, and whoever lost the match cooks.”
143 / 150 characters
Why it works. The day has a shape and two people in it already. “Whoever lost cooks” is the reply hook.
6. Together we could
Jo · sample
Before · what most people write
“Travel the world and try new things.”
After · same person, same facts
“Finish the campervan. I have the bed and the wiring; I do not have anyone who can hold a torch straight.”
104 / 150 characters
Why it works. The second answer is a joke, a plan and a compliment in one line, and it says what Jo's life actually looks like.
7. I'll fall for you if
Maya · sample
Before · what most people write
“You're kind, funny and honest.”
After · same person, same facts
“You know the capital of Burkina Faso without looking, or you look and then tell me how you looked.”
98 / 150 characters
Why it works. Lists of adjectives are invisible. One oddly specific standard is memorable, and it is still about kindness and honesty underneath.
8. Dating me is like
Dev · sample
Before · what most people write
“A fun adventure.”
After · same person, same facts
“Being handed a plate of something you did not order and finding out it is the best thing on the menu. Also, I will steal one chip.”
130 / 150 characters
Why it works. “Fun adventure” could be a theme park. The rewrite is Dev in two sentences, including a small flaw, which reads as honest.
9. Green flags I look for
Jo · sample
Before · what most people write
“Someone who is emotionally available and loves dogs.”
After · same person, same facts
“You say hello to the dog before you say hello to me, and you do not mind mud on the seats.”
90 / 150 characters
Why it works. The same two wishes, shown instead of named, with a scene the reader can picture on a first date.
The whole profile
Prompts are a third of the order. The rest is the bio, two spare answers per prompt, a one-line opener and a photo-order tip sheet. Read the complete sample for Sam, 31, built from twelve answers.

Questions
What are the best Hinge prompts to answer?
The ones you can answer with a specific scene from your own week. “Typical Sunday”, “The way to win me over is”, “Two truths and a lie” and “Together we could” work for most people because they ask for a picture, not an adjective. Skip any prompt you can only answer with a list.
How long should a Hinge prompt answer be?
Hinge allows 150 characters per prompt answer. One or two sentences, with one concrete thing (a place, a food, a habit, a name) that someone can reply to. Every rewrite on this page fits.
What are the four invisible words?
Travel, food, laughing and “no games”. They are true for almost everyone, so they tell the reader nothing and give them nothing to reply to. Replace each with the specific version: where, what, what made you laugh, what you actually want.
Should my Hinge prompts be funny?
Only in your own voice. A joke you would not say out loud reads as borrowed. Specific beats funny: a true, odd detail gets more replies than a line that tries to be clever.
Can someone write my Hinge profile for me?
Yes. We write the bio, three prompt answers with two spares each and an opener from your twelve answers, in one day, for $49. We never log in to your account or message anyone for you; you paste the words in yourself.
Samples only. Maya, Dev and Jo are invented for this page; no real person's profile appears here. Prompt names are Hinge's. Nobody can promise matches. For adults 18+. Not dating advice or therapy. Not affiliated with Hinge, Bumble, Tinder or any app.
